What happens when you invite an international vlogger to join a month-long program in Ecuador.
Where in the world is El Nomad?!
We have adventured around all of Ecuador - from the depths of the Amazon Rainforest to the beautiful islands in the Galapagos, and from the beaches of Ayampe to local Cuenca.
But we aren't done with our journey just yet!
Where are we headed now? To Salinas de Guaranda, where we are learning about everything local - including chocolate, cheese, cozy clothes, and fútbol. That pretty much covers the basics for surviving Ecuador, right?!
Check us out in Episode 8!
The town of Salinas de Guaranda strives to create a learning environment for tourists by having local businesses open their doors and show them around during regular work days. We took advantage of the opportunity and started Phase 1 of our day at a wool factory!
As you can see, our El Nomad crew left the site with warm and fuzzy new hats!
Phase 2 and 3 are feeding our appetites with a tour of a chocolate factory AND a cheese factory! Say no more - we are loving this town!
Salinas de Guaranda prides itself on being a ‘Pueblo de Economía Solidaria’. This means that any profits made by local businesses are shared throughout the community and reinvested into the town.
Phase 4 is kicked off at another local factory and has us yelling GOL! Can you guess what we are learning about in the last leg of the trip?
And that’s a wrap with our exciting adventure!
How does Sophie rate her day in Salinas de Guaranda? Here’s a hint!
